MS4 Subinternship in Anesthesiology

Fourth year medical students who are interested in anesthesiology have the opportunity to do a sub-internship with the Department of Anesthesiology. The rotation is one month long and consists of a) didactic discussions about preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management, b) an opportunity to function as a member of the anesthesia team on a daily basis, c) sessions in the high fidelity human simulator, and d) participation in all departmental educational conferences. The rotation is directed by Dr. Torgeson.
For visiting medical students applying for an away rotation, the minimum requirements are:
- Student in good standing with home institution
- No more than 1 Failed grade in medical school transcript
- Must have taken USMLE STEP I
- USMLE STEP I > 200
Each rotation block can only accommodate a maximum of 4 students.
