Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA®)

BATCAVE

The goal of the ABA-required simulation activity is to enhance and document participation in Practice Performance and Improvement (PPAI) activities. Our MOCA® simulation programs focus on presenting scenarios designed to help the participant identify areas and projects for their PPAI programs. A major portion of the simulation process is dedicated to a detailed debriefing regarding the action, decisions, and processes arising in each scenario. Peer to peer, guided debriefing will occupy at least 30 percent of the educational process. debriefings may also include handouts and/or brief presentations on key clinical issues.

Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia Symposium and Workshop

Our basic program is geared towards anesthesiologists with little to no experience in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia (UGRA). Participants will leave this workshop knowing how to perform high yield upper and lower extremity blocks using ultrasound guidance and have the confidence to perform these blocks clinically. This course fulfills all 10 didactic and 6 technical skill hours required to apply for the ASA/ASRA UGRA Portfolio Certificate.

Our advanced program is catered to anesthesiologists who have experience in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia (UGRA) and are looking to take the next step. Our workshop empowers participants to be proficient in difficult blocks and to be able to perform UGRA on patients with difficult anatomy. This course fulfills all 10 didactic and 6 technical skill hours required to apply for the ASA/ASRA UGRA Portfolio Certificate.

The 2016 conference will be held on October 1st and 2nd, stay tuned for more information.
