UNM Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for the UNM School of Medicine and is the home of the highly regarded UNM Children's Hospital. It provides New Mexicans with a wide range of specialty and subspecialty care, with many of those specialties not available anywhere else in the state. The hospital also operates New Mexico's only Level I Trauma Center and treats more than 1,300 critically injured patients a year. New Mexicans are fortunate to have such an integrated medical center in Albuquerque where UNMH is located.

Outpatient Surgery and Imaging Services (OSIS): Ambulatory surgeries are performed at this state-of-the-art freestanding surgical center located on University Blvd on the campus of the UNM Cancer Center. Many patients may receive regional anesthesia as their primary anesthetic or for postoperative pain control.
Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion: (BBRP): This beautiful facility houses the hospital’s state-of-the-art pediatric operating rooms and labor amd delivery suite. Nestled in nearly 500,000 square feet of the Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion, UNM Children's Hospital cares for nearly 60,000 children, over half of whom live outside of the Albuquerque area. It is also home to expanded and improved world-class medical, trauma-surgical, neurosurgical, pediatric, and neonatal intensive care units. New Mexico’s only Level I trauma emergency room has been expanded and upgraded by the new facility.
The New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NMVAHCS) strives to provide the highest quality primary, secondary, and tertiary health care to its beneficiaries through a compassionate, innovative health care system, excellent training and education of health care professionals, and effective use of available resources. The Albuquerque Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center is a Level 1 tertiary referral center located in the heart of the Land of Enchantment. The medical center is authorized to operate 217 beds, which include a 26-bed spinal cord injury center (SCI), and a 36-bed Nursing Home Care Unit. The New Mexico VA Health Care System has a major affiliation with the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (UNMSOM) with 115 resident FTE currently rotating through 35 clinical residency-training programs. UNM is New Mexico's only medical school and the Albuquerque VAMC is the only VA hospital. Together they serve as invaluable resources for the state.
UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is a 200,000 square-foot acute care facility housing a total of 72 inpatient beds comprised of two 24 bed medical/surgical units, 12 intensive care beds and 12 senior behavioral health beds. The facility is served by UNM Anesthesiology and Critical Care faculty physicians.
